To start playing with the Rivers & Rafts expansion, first make sure you have the Endless Winter: Paleoamericans base game. Take out all the components from the expansion set and add the new River tiles and Landmark pieces to the Terrain board as described in the rulebook. Each player gets their tribe members and cards.
During each round, decide where to send your tribe members. When you choose an action space, play cards and use your resources to pay for it. Save some cards for the Eclipse phase at the end of the round. This is when all players reveal their saved cards together to determine the new player order and trigger bonus actions.
Paddle your rafts down the riverways on the new River tiles to catch fish and gain more influence over the map. Compete with other players to control the landmarks and get the Eclipse phase benefits.
